TYPE LOCALITY: New Guinea, Irian Jaya, 2 km E Mt Wilhelmina, 3800 m (see Flannery et al., 1989, for details) .

DISTRIBUTION: New Guinea, Irian Jaya, Snow Mts; known only from vicinity of the type locality and Mt Carstenz (see map in Flannery et al., 1989:97).

COMMENTS: A very distinctive species known only by a few specimens collected between 2400 and 4000 m.
