TYPE LOCALITY: Solomon Isis, Guadalcanal Isl, Aola .

DISTRIBUTION: Found only on Guadalcanal Isl.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Cyromys . Another Guadalcanal species that has historically been placed in either Uromys or Cyromys, but is currently allocated to the former (Flannery and Wickler, 1990; Groves and Flannery, in litt.). Still represented by less than a dozen specimens (Flannery, 1991).
