COMMENTS: Revised by Sanborn (1947a); distribution augmented by Pine et al. (1979). Although grouped with sigmodont rodents by Hershkovitz (1955a), other studies have convincingly linked the genus with phyllotines (Olds and Anderson, 1989; Pearson and Patton, 1976).
