TYPE DEPOSITORY: of I. corticalis and L. (A.) elegans: not stated; of I. variolatus: Biological Laboratory, Matsuyama Shinonome Junior College, Matsuyama, Japan; accession number MSJC-BL 108.

NOTES: (a) Bregetova (1977a: 207) suspected L. (A.) elegans to be a junior synonym of I. corticalis; (b) Halliday et al. (1998: 24) considered I. corticalis to be a senior synonym of Iphidozercon californicus Chant. We adopted the interpretation of Gwiazdowicz & Halliday (2008: 49), considering them to be distinct species.
