TYPE DEPOSITORY: originally in author’s personal collection; according to Gwiazdowicz et al. (2008a: 31), six female syntypes presently deposited at Zoologischen Staatssammlung München, Germany. TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: Waidhofen an der Thaya, Austria, on Eccoptogaster laevis [Animalia: Curculionidae].

NOTE: Gwiazdowicz (2007: 106) suspected P. eccoptogasteris to be a senior synonym of Proctolaelaps pruni Karg.
