TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Rattus norvegicus [Animalia: Muridae].

NOTE: Ryke (1961) transferred this species to Cyrtolaelaps (Digamasellus), without providing any explanation for the change. We cannot exclude the possibility that this species belongs to the Ascidae, but the available information is not adequate to place it in a genus.
