TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: of L. queenslandicus: Cedar Creek, via Closeburn, Queensland, Australia, on cards placed amongst scrub; of L. athiasae: on farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, Giza, Egypt, in debris.
NOTES: (a) specimen reported as P. queenslandicus by Domrow (1957: 205) was re-identified as Lasioseius subterraneus by Walter & Lindquist (1997: 532); (b) the formal description of Lasioseius athiasae Nawar & Nasr, 1991 appears to have been published after Nasr et al. (1990) used the species name and described its immature stages. We have not determined the exact dates of publication of these two papers.
