Type species Paradoxomantispa jiaxiaoae Lu et al., (2020, by original designation.

Revised diagnosis Profemoral ISs rows: anteroventral row consisting of a major process with four or five branches (anterior branch present), and several short processes along distal 1/2–3/4 length of profemur; posteroventral row commencing by a primary process or not, with 10–18 processes. Protibia with a row of flattened prostrate setae (Type j6, j9). Male gonocoxites 9 long and slender, distally simple and acute; gonapophyses 10 very slender, rod-like, distally acute. Female sternum 7 posterolaterally produced; gonocoxites 9 short ventrally produced; ectoprocts not produced ventrally.
