Psilopa pectinata Hendel, 1931: 68 . Lectotype, male (herein designated). Egypt (Kerdassa [= Kirdasah (30°01.9'N, 31°06.7'E)] (EFC).

Type material of P. pectinata, examined: A syntype male (in a good condition) in EFC is herein designated as lectotype and is labeled: Kerdasa, 10.11.1925.; paralectotype, female: Ramleh, 30.6.1922.

Identification remarks: Identification of this species requires dissection, which is not now permitted in PPDD. It is possibly a synonym of P. compta (Meigen, 1830) .

Distribution: AF: Cape Verde Is. PA: Algeria, Egypt.

Egyptian localities: Coastal Strip: Ramleh. Lower Nile Valley & Delta: Kerdassa.

Dates of collection: June to November.
