Type material of P. ulianai, examined: Holotype and three paratypes are labeled: “ EGYPT Southern Siwa Oasis 17-18. 2. 2007 leg M. Uliana”, “ Philotelma ulianai n. sp. det. Raffone G. 2010” [“det. Raffone G.” printed] preserved in MSNVE. Several characters, especially the size, straight claws and confirmation of face support suggested synonymy.
Distribution: AF: Cape Verde Is. PA: Afghanistan, Algeria, Azores, Bulgaria, Canary Is., China, Cyprus, Czechia, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Iran, Italy, Libya, Madeira Is., Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine.
Egyptian localities: Widespread throughout the country except Gebel Elba. Cresson (1930) recorded this species from different localities in Egypt. Willcocks (1916) recorded it from rice fields in Lower Egypt. Hafez (1947) recorded it on cow dung.
