Description. Adult (Fig. 4). Wingspan 8.0 mm.
Head and thorax. Essentially as previously described for male (see Du & Wang 2012).
Abdomen: Female genitalia (Fig. 12) with papilla anales setose, rounded on posterior margin. Apophyses anteriores 1/2 length of apophyses posteriores. Lamella postvaginalis inverted trapezoidal, weakly concave and lined with fine setae on posterior margin. Lamella antevaginalis wider than long, subtrapezoidal, narrowed to lateral side. Ductus bursae membranous, inflated medially, with a wide transverse rectangular plate near base, with a second much larger transverse plate below, bearing 9 large teeth. Corpus bursae elongate ovate, 1/3 as long as ductus bursae; signum absent.
Distribution. China (Hainan).
Note. Promalactis saligna belongs to the suzukiella species-group, characterized by the forewing having a white subbasal fascia and a rounded costal spot. The female of P. saligna is described for the first time herein.
