Fuminana incurvata sp. nov.
(Figs 35 –47, 78, 79, 84)
Diagnosis. Pygofer (Fig. 41) apex strongly tapered, almost digitiform and acute. Style (Fig. 45) apex with subapical constriction, bent dorsally and acute apically, with a minute subapical process on dorsal margin and a long subapical process on ventral margin. Aedeagus (Figs 46, 47) strongly curved ventrally; apex with pair of long processes directed ventrally.
Measurements. Total length: Holotype male: 13.7 mm.
Coloration. Frons (Fig. 36) with black punctures only near crown-face transition. Other characteristics as in generic description.
Description. Prothoracic leg (Fig. 84) with filiform setae on ventral surface of femur and tibia. Other characteristics as in generic description.
Male terminalia. Sternite VIII (Fig. 39) 1.6x wider than long; posterior margin slightly sinuate. Valve (Fig. 40) 1.8x wider than long. Pygofer (Fig. 41) 2.5x longer than maximum height; ventral margin rounded; dorsal margin strongly excavated and deeply concave in dorsal view; apex strongly tapered, almost digitiform and acute. Subgenital plate (Fig. 42), in ventral view, 3.9x longer than wide; inner margin straight; outer margin weakly rounded; apex narrowed and rounded. Connective (Fig. 43) longer than wide; stem length longer than half basal width of connective. Style (Fig. 44), in dorsal view, outer lobe poor developed; in lateral view (Fig. 45), blade narrow, slightly broadened subapically, curved near base and straight posterad; apex with subapical constriction, bent dorsally and acute apically, with a minute subapical process on dorsal margin and a long subapical process on ventral margin, bearing minute denticles. Aedeagus (Figs 46, 47) dorsal apodeme with laterodorsal angles strongly elongated and divergent; shaft arched, long and thin, strongly curved ventrally; apex weakly sclerotized on ventral margin, forming pair of long processes directed ventrally.
Female. Unknown.
Etymology. The new species name comes from the Latin word ‘ incurvatus ’ and means arched. It refers to the strongly arched shaft of the aedeagus.
Material examined. Holotype male: “Vilhena, RO \ 20/XII/1984 \ C. Elias, leg. \ Polonoroeste” (DZUP).
Remarks. Fuminana incurvata sp. nov. is easily recognized because it is the only species of the genus with the aedeagus curved ventrally (Fig. 46).
