Distribution (Map 31): southern Russia (Lower Volga Region), Ciscaucasus, Caucasus, Transcaucasus, east-
ern Turkey. - In Iran: Kordestan province.

Bionomics. The biology of this bivoltine species is poorly known. In Armenia, caterpillars have been recorded on Quercus, Populus tremulae, Populus spp ., Malus, Pyrus, Prunus spinosa (Gevorkjan 1986: 687) . Spring generation dark like European P. ilicifolium L.; summer generation lighter, with reduction of whitish pattern and like P. tremulifolium Esp. The species is noted from Iran for the first time.
