Toledopizia salesopolensis (Piza, 1980) comb. nov.
Tympanotriba vittata Piza, 1971 (transferred to Conocephalini)
Piza placed his new genus Tympanotriba into the subfamily Tympanophorinae, which is restricted to Australia, comparing it to the genera Tympanophora White, 1841, Mortoniellus Griffini, 1909 (now in Lipotactinae, distributed in South-East Asia), and Megatympanon Piza, 1958, which he had already included into this subfamily (it is now in Listroscelidinae). However, Tympanotriba vittata belongs to Conocephalinae, resembling very much the species-rich genus Conocephalus Thunberg, 1815, except for the modified tegmina, with an expanded costal area with conspicuous parallel transversal veins. It is almost perpendicular to the stridulatory area and probably an acoustical adaptation, enlosing a subtegminal air space that might act as a resonator. We move this remarkable little katydid to the Conocephalinae, tribe Conocephalini .
