Hebardius rubrovittatus Piza 1980 (emended spelling of genus name)

Herbardius rubrovittatus Piza 1980

The original spelling with an additional r needs to be corrected according to article 32.5 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, since the genus is explicitly named after. M. Hebard: "... em homenagem ao antiguo ortopterólogo americano MORGAN HERBARD.” According to the description, the genus differs from related ones by the following characters: vertex not carinate, the Rs branch of the tegmina originating after the middle, undivided, and not connected to the “humeral vein” (in the Latin diagnosis equally unclear “ulnar vein”) by a transversal veinlet; the hind femora with spines only on the inner margin, and the shape of the ovipositor. The fairly broad and strongly upcurved ovispitor is in fact different from otherwise similar slender-winged Phaneropterinae .
