Diagnosis (new version): A Reconcavona species with a small to medium-sized carapace. Lateral outline bean- or kidney-shaped. Dorsal margin convex with indications of cardinal angles. Ventral margin clearly indented. Anterior margin rather more broadly rounded than the posterior margin. Left valve larger than right valve. Five to zero [up to five] more or less distinct nodes on the lateral flanks of the valves, of which a maximum of two are dorsal and a maximum of three are ventral. The fine sculpture consists of striations which are reminiscent of fingerprints.
Remarks (Bate et al. herein): ‘Hypotypes’, all carapaces, SMF Xe 4231–4235.
