Genus Austromantispa Esben-Petersen

Austromantispa Esben-Petersen, 1917 (as a subgenus of Mаntispа). Type species: Mаntispа imbecillа, Gerstaecker, 1885 by

original designation.

Distribution: Oriental and Australasian: Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea.

Diagnosis (Modified from Lambkin 1986b): Austromantispa is distinguished from other Oriental and Palearctic genera by the combination of a simple A 1 in the hindwing, the presence of short thick setae on the dorsum of a granulated pronotum, and a simple or unmodified pterostigma.
