Mimonectes loveni Bovallius, 1885

Southeast Pacific: ex. 1090383, 5/280, [67.325°S 74.875°W], 2577 m.

Remarks: A relatively common species, found in all the world’s oceans except the Mediterranean Sea. It is found most often in depths of 200–1000 m, and sometimes occurs near the surface (Vinogradov 1982/96). Zeidler and De Broyer (2009) indicated that this species might occur in the Southern Ocean with the most southerly record being from the south-west Pacific (46°43’S 176°08’E). Thus, the above is a new record for the Antarctic Zone of the Southeast Pacific Sector.
