Diagnosis. Bouček (1965a) and Hansson (2002) should be consulted for a generic diagnosis. Bouček (1965a) proposed a general definition of Pediobius and Hansson (2002) provided some additional diagnostic characters (e.g., the interrupted posterior margin of the prepectus) and broadened the taxonomic range of the genus. In addition, through our study, we found species of this genus usually have the submedian area of the propodeum depressed along the anterior margin. The apomorphies of Pediobius and characters that differentiate it from other similar genera of Entedoninae were discussed by Hansson (2002) and Hansson & Nishida (2002).
