Diagnosis

Alloxysta salicicola is mainly characterized by a partially open radial cell that is 2.6 times as long as wide; the presence of pronotal carinae; smooth propodeum; and antenna with rhinaria and club shape beginning on F3, F1 longer than pedicel and F2, and F2 subequal to F3. It is similar to A. macrophadna, but can be easily differentiated by flagellomere proportions (F2–F4 are subequal in A. salicicola (Fig. 3.11), but not subequal in A. macrophadna (Fig. 2.25)) and the size of the radial cell (2.6 times as long as wide in A. salicicola (Fig. 5.15) but 3.3 times in A. macrophadna (Fig. 4.21)).
