Coenosia aristalis (Emden, 1940: 201)

Holotype male seen (Figs 9–12); in good condition.

Diagnosis. Medium sized species (4.7–5.8mm); general colour brown with grey pollinosity; scutum with five faint brown vittae; palpus brown; arista plumose (Fig. 70 of Emden, 1940: 182; Fig. 11); legs yellow, including coxae; scutellum with both pairs of setae present and long and with setulae on disc; anterior katepisternal very short; lower calypter about 2.5 times as long as the upper one; haltere yellow; fore tibia with a long median posteroventral seta; hind tibia only with a long and strong median anterodorsal seta; sternite 5 as in Fig. 56.
