Diagnosis. The single member of the gourlayi species-group can be distinguished from other Sagola species-groups by the following combination of characters: body length 2.3 mm (Fig. 34a); antennomere 1 approximately 2 times longer than wide; anterior and posterior frontal fovea oval, anterior frontal fovea open anteriorly (Fig. 34c); hind wings well-developed; only known from Nelson on South Island (Fig. 36).
