Diagnosis. Members of the gilae species-group can be distinguished from other Sagola speciesgroups by the following combination of characters: body length 1.8–2.3 mm; antennomere 1 approximately 2 times longer than wide with dull surface; anterior frontal fovea oval and partially covered by frontal rostrum, posterior frontal fovea oval (Fig. 49e); hind wings well-developed; abdominal tergites IV–VI with discal carinae; parameres divided (Fig. 49c–d).

The key is based on male specimens because female specimens are unknown.
