Diagnosis. Members of the notabilis speciesgroup can be distinguished from other Sagola species-groups by the following combination of characters: body length 2.4–3.0 mm; antennomere 1 approximately twice as long as wide (Fig. 56g); frontal sulcus deep and reaching posterior margin of eye (Fig. 56h); anterior frontal fovea round and partially covered by frontal rostrum, posterior frontal fovea elongate (Fig. 56h); ventral surface of male head distinctly depressed with a pair of processes (Fig. 56i); hind wings fully developed; hind femur as wide as tibia (Fig. 56j); hind claws enlarged (Fig. 56k); abdominal tergites IV–VI with discal carinae; male abdominal ventrites VI–VII with triangular and rectangular depression, respectively (Fig. 56l).
KEY TO SPECIES OF THE NOTABILIS SPECIES- GROUP
The key is based on male specimens because most female specimens are indistinguishable based on external morphology.
