Material examined. Pahne Rashid, Kermanshah, (N 34° 03΄ 6.4˝, E 46° 05΄ 34.7˝), 2102m, ZUTC 6034. (Fig. 1).

General distribution and habitats. Recorded from Spain to France and Italy. It is also reported to be present in Alpine region and upper Rhine system (Nesemann & Neubert 1999) and from Eastern Europe, Carpathian streams in Slovakia (Beracko & Kosel 2011). Living in different types of running waters underside of stones or in gravels of littoral zones. A new record for Iran .

Descriptive features and remarks. Medium sized leeches (to 50 mm). Anterior more or less cylindrical and lateral keels in posterior. Genital pores separated by 1.5 or two annuli. Dorsally dark reddish or grayish black with transverse rows of yellowish spots on annulus a2 and one pair of dark para-median stripe spots fade sometimes in anterior part. Ventrally, pale and grayish. Body surface with papillae.
