Records from the study area: Maharashtra—“ Torrenticola tetraporella ” Cook (1967); “ T. tetraporella ” Prasad (1974); Pešić & Ranga Reddy (2009); Uttaranchal—“ T. tetraporella ” Kumar & Dobriyal (1992).

Remarks: Wiles (1997a) synonymized Torrenticola tetraporella Cook, 1967 with T. tetrapora .

Habitat: Streams; probably hyporheophilous.

Distribution: India, Burma, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei.
