Astenus peyrierasi Lecoq, 1996; Janák & Lecoq, 2007: 326.

Type locality. East Madagascar, east of Vondrozo .

Material examined (3 specimens). MADAGASCAR: 3 ♂♂: RANOMAFANA N.P.; 6.x.2012, S21°17’51.8‘‘ E47°26’35.1‘‘; 1008m, VALOHOAKA, sifting litter, L.S. Rahanitriniaina lgt. (MMBC, JJRC) .

Distribution. The species was hitherto known from the type locality situated east of Vondrozo and from Mt. Ambondrombe. The new locality is situated north of the type locality.

Note. The size of dark spots on the elytra is variable, in some specimens the spots are absent.
