Type species.— Rhinopsalta sicardi Melichar 1908: 59 . ( Montes Ambre, Madagascar)

Remarks.—A monospecific genus containing a cicada with a postclypeus possessing an anteriorly projecting fingerlike extension. The genus is characterized by species with an elongated postclypeus, fore wings with seven apical cells, and hind wings with five apical cells.

Distribution.—The only species of the genus is found in Madagascar (Metcalf 1963b; Sanborn 2013).
