Type species.— Jafuna melichari Distant 1912b: 648 . ( Tamatave, Madagascar)

Remarks.—A monospecific genus containing a small, green cicada with an extended anterior postclypeus, eyes longer than broad, prominent antennae, a head about as long as the pronotum, the posterior pronotal lateral margins angled posteriorly, globose male abdomen, short male opercula (Distant 1912b).

Distribution.—The only species of the genus is found in Madagascar (Metcalf 1963b).
