Malgachialna Boulard 1980b: 49 .

Type species.— Malgachialna noualhieri Boulard, 1980b: 50 (Madagascar) .

Remarks.—A previously monospecific genus that is characterized by blunt head that is much narrower than the mesonotum, the anterior postclypeus not extending beyond supra-antennal plates, the mesonotum is longer than the head and prothorax combined, the completely visible dorsal metanotum that is about as large as the cruciform elevation, the male abdomen is conical posterior to the third segment, and the pygofer distal shoulders are not developed. The genus can be distinguished from the related Malagasia by the truncated anterior head margin, the posteriorly tapering abdomen, and the small cruciform elevation (Boulard 1980b).

Distribution.—The genus is restricted to Madagascar (Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2013).
