Platypleura evanescens Butler 1882: 389 . (Antananarivo, Madagascar)
Remarks.—The species can be distinguished from its congeneric species by the fore wing width being about half the fore wing length and the rostrum reaching past the anterior opercular margin (Distant 1905b).
Distribution.—The species is only known from Madagascar (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013). Butler (1882) and Jacobi (1917) reported the species from Antananarivo, central Madagascar.
