Chremistica elenae madagascariensis Boulard 2001: 134 . (Dry forest of Ampijora, Madagascar)
Remarks.—As outlined above, Chremistica elenae was considered to have been described simultaneously with the subspecies Chremistica elenae madagascariensis . The specimens, description and drawings used by Boulard (2001) to distinguish Chremistica elenae madagascariensis are applied here to Orientafroinsularis elenae n. comb.
A species described as uniformly castaneous marked with tawny. It is the second smallest Madagascar species in the genus with a body length of 24 mm and a wingspan of 66.2 mm (Boulard 2001). The size and coloration quickly distinguish it from the remaining species of the genus in Madagascar. The song begins as a constant buzzing becoming a series of rapid syllables with peak frequency about 10 kHz (Boulard 2001).
Distribution.—The species is known only from Madagascar (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013). The species is only known from the type locality of the dry forest of Ampijora, Madagascar (Boulard 2001).
