Label locality: ‘Seas of Japan’.

Type material: 1 paralectotype NHMUK 197991/1 (also lectotype of T. dillwynii Deshayes, 1859) (H. Cuming collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype (Bratcher & Cernohorsky, 1987: 167).
