Type locality: ‘ Stations 20 and 21’, ‘ Station 20. East of Kii, 34°11’ N. lat., 136°25’ E. long; 56 fathoms. Station 21. Between south-western extremity of Niphon and the island of Shikoku, 33°45½’ N. lat., 132°30’ E. long.; 22 fathoms’.

Label locality: ‘56 fms 34.11 N: 136.25 E.’, ‘Suwo-Nada Gulf – 30 fms. 33. 45½ N. Lat. 132. 30 E. Long.’.
