Type locality: ‘ Japan; Philippine Islands’ .

Label locality: ‘ Cagayan, Province of Misamis, Island of Mindanao 25 fathoms’.

Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 1968230/1 and 2 paralectotypes NHMUK 1968230/2-3 (H. Cuming collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype (Cernohorsky, 1969: 220).

Remarks: ‘ Cagayan, Mindanao Is., Philippines’ designated as type locality by Bratcher & Cernohorsky (1987: 188).
