Vindullus guatemalensis (Keyserling, 1887) comb. nov.

Olios guatemalensis Keyserling, 1887: 477, pl. 6, fig. 37 (male holotype from Guatemala [no specific locality indicated], deposited in MCZ 21505, examined).

Diagnosis. Males of V. guatemalensis (Keyserling) comb. nov. are distinguished from those of the remaining Vindullus species, except V. fugiens (O. Pickard-Cambridge) comb. nov., in having palps with a loosely spiraled tegulum, a triangular projection at the base of the embolus, a long and laminar serrated projection and a prolateral spiny field (Figs 4–6). They are distinguished from V. fugiens by the absence of a conductor (present in V. fugiens) and by the large spiny field, extending ventrally (restricted to the prolateral surface in V. fugiens, Figs 1–3). Females are unknown.

Description. Male (holotype): Specimen very fragile and disarticulated. Coloration faded yellow with no identifiable pattern. Total length 8.8. Prosoma: 4.8 long, 5.0 wide. Opisthosoma: 3.8 long, 3.0 wide. Eyes arranged in two straight rows: diameters: 0.38, 0.36, 0.26, 0.30; interdistances: 0.28, 0.16, 0.46, 0.54, 0.40, 0.30. Chelicerae with two promarginal teeth, the basal one smallest, four retromarginal teeth, the basal one smallest and six strong setae at base of fang. Legs disarticulated: I: - (7.9, 2.9, rest of leg absent); II: - (8.7, 3.1, rest of leg absent); III: - (6.6, 2.6, rest of leg absent); IV: 23.7 (7.2, 2.4, 6.3, 6.0, 1.8). Spination pattern could not be verified. Palp: tibia slightly shorter than half the length of cymbium, with one strong prolateral spine; cymbium with small retroproximal protrusion, oval alveolus and dorsal chemosensory scopula; embolus filiform (Figs 4–6).

Female: unknown.

Distribution. Guatemala. Only known from the type locality.
