Genus Smicromyrmilla Suárez 1965

Smicromyrmilla Suárez 1965a: 570, type species: Mutilla ariasi André 1896, by original designation.

Two species of Smicromyrmilla occur in the Palaearctic and 16 species occur in the Afrotropical region (Lelej 2002, Nonveiller 1973). The genus is recorded for the first time from Pakistan. The differences between Smicromyrmilla male and related Oriental Eosmicromyrmilla Lelej & Krombein 2001, Hindustanilla Lelej 2001, and Cameronilla Lelej 2001 males are noted in Lelej & Krombein (2001). The genus Smicromyrmilla is placed in the subfamily Ticoplinae, tribe Smicromyrmillini.
