Bruchophagus Ashmead, 1888

Larvae of all Bruchophagus species found in asphodel seeds are almost certainly phytophagous. The larval mandibles are bidentate (Fig. 6B), as in the larvae of Eurytoma (Fig. 6E), but with a relatively larger inner tooth, and the body setae are much shorter (Figs 6A, C) than those of larvae of the Eurytoma species found in asphodel seeds (Figs 6D, F). Six species, all previously undescribed, are here attributed to Bruchophagus .
