6.3 Handroanthus impetiginosus (Martius ex De Candolle 1845: 218) Mattos (1970: 1) (Fig. 9 d).
Diagnosis:— Handroanthus impetiginosus can be recognized by the lilac corollas (vs. yellow in H. albus and H. chrysotrichus). It can be confused with H. heptaphyllus, but it differs by the leaflet with margins entire (vs. serrated in H. heptaphyllus) (Lozano & Zapater 2008).
Reproductive Period:— Flowers were collected in June, no fruiting data.
Distribution and Habitat: It occurs from Mexico to Argentina and Brazil (Gentry 1992, Lohmann 2010). Within the study area, it was registered in Foz do Iguaçu, planted as ornamental.
