Remarks. Females collected in this study have spermathecal calyx (Figure 1) about 3 times longer than stated in the original description; however, the general shape of the spermatheca and the proportion between the length of the calyx and the diameter of the atrium of the specimens collected in this study are similar to the illustration provided in the original description. Chant & McMurtry (2004a) placed A. chungas in the aerialis species subgroup (of the obtusus species group), characterized among other aspects, by the tubular calyx. The examination of a large number of females collected in this study, including some from Chiclayo (60 km from the type locality of this species) showed that the shape of the calyx varies from almost tubular to funnelshaped.
