Type species. Pseudodryinus townesi (Olmi 1984), by original designation.
Diagnosis. ♀ (Figs 154C, D): fully winged (Figs 154C, D); palpal formula 3/2, 4/2, 4/3, 5/2, or 5/3 (for 6/3, see remarks about Pseudodryinus townesi); antenna with many long scattered setae on antennomeres 6–10 (setae not forming tufts) (Fig. 154C); forewing with three cells enclosed by pigmented veins (C, R and 1Cu) (Figs 154C, D); protarsus chelate (Figs 154C, D); chela with rudimentary claw (Fig. 155C); protarsomere 5 less than twice as broad as enlarged claw (Fig. 155C); enlarged claw with one subapical tooth (Fig. 155C)); tibial spurs 1/1/2. ♂ (Figs 156A, B): fully winged (Figs 156A, B); palpal formula 6/3; occipital carina complete; mandible with four irregular teeth; notauli joint or separated at posterior margin of mesoscutum; if separated, minimum distance between notauli much shorter than greatest breadth of lateral ocelli; forewing with three cells enclosed by pigmented veins (C, R and 1Cu) (Figs 156A, B); forewing with PostabR1 as long as, or longer than pterostigma (Fig. 156B); tibial spurs 1/1/2.
Distribution. Palaearctic, Afrotropical, Oriental and Australian regions.
Hosts. Unknown.
World species. Ten species are known, two in the Afrotropical region.
Remarks. Two fossil species of Pseudodryinus are known: Pseudodryinus parisiensis Peinado et al. 2006 (amber from Le Quesnoy deposit (Oise, France)); P. burmensis Olmi, Xu & Guglielmino 2014 (amber from Myanmar).
