(Figs 114B, 116, 117A)

Diagnosis. ♂ of Bocchus with mesoscutum reticulate rugose (Fig. 117A); notauli incomplete, reaching approxi- mately 0.5–0.8 × length of mesoscutum; propodeal declivity with median area at least partly shiny, unsculptured; apex of basivolsella with one subdistal inner pointed apophysis (Fig. 114B).

Description. ♂ (Figs 116, 117A). Fully winged; body length 2.2–2.9 mm. Head black, except mandible testaceous; antenna ferruginous; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs brown, except procoxa and tarsi testaceous. Antenna filiform; antennomeres in following proportions: 11:6:7:7:7:7:7:6:6:8; antennomere 8 less than 3 × as long as broad (6:3). Head (Fig. 116C) convex, dull, covered with short setae, granulate and reticulate rugose; frontal line complete; occipital carina complete; POL = 6; OL = 3; OOL = 8; OPL = 6; TL = 3; greatest breadth of lateral ocelli longer than OL (4:3). Mesoscutum (Fig. 116A), mesoscutellum and metanotum dull, completely strongly reticulate rugose. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.5 × length of mesoscutum (in specimens from Madagascar, 12°13.97’ S 49°21.99’E, notauli reaching about 0.8 × length of mesoscutum). Mesopleuron dull, strongly reticulate rugose. Metapleuron dull, sculptured by numerous strong transverse keels. Metapectal-propodeal disc with strong transverse posterior keel, dull, reticulate rugose; propodeal declivity with two complete longitudinal keels, lateral areas completely reticulate rugose and median area partly shiny and unsculptured. In paratype from Madagascar, 22°54.22’S 43°28.53’E, median area of propodeal declivity almost completely reticulate rugose, with unsculptured central area very small. Forewing (Fig. 116D) hyaline, without dark transverse bands; 2r-rs&Rs vein with distinct separation between distal and proximal part; distal part of 2r-rs&Rs vein slightly shorter than proximal part (10:11). Apex of basivolsella with one subdistal inner pointed apophysis (Fig. 114B). Tibial spurs 1/1/2.

Hosts. Unknown.

Distribution. Madagascar.

Etymology. The Latin adjective ruvidus (= rugose) refers to the rugose sculpture of head, mesoscutum, mesoscutellum and metanotum.

Remarks. In the paratype from Madagascar, 22°54.22’S 43°28.53’E, the median area of the propodeal declivity is almost completely reticulate rugose, with a very small unsculptured central area, with the result that it may be confused with Bocchus johanssoni Olmi, Copeland & Guglielmino, that has the median area completely reticulate rugose. However, in B. johanssoni the antenna is more slender than in B. ruvidus (antennomere 8 much more than twice as long as broad (8:3) in B. johanssoni; about twice as long as broad (6:3) in B. ruvidus).
