133. Gonatopus capicola Kieffer, 1913
Gonatopus capicola Kieffer 1913c: 324; Olmi 1984: 1802.
Description (according to Kieffer 1913c). ♀. Apterous; length 3.5 mm. Colour black, except mandible red (except black teeth); clypeus, margins of mouth, narrow stripe along anterior half of orbits, antennomere 1, tarsi and slender part of tibiae white; petiole and lateral regions of pronotum brown-red.
♂. Unknown.
Type material (not examined). ♀ holotype (only known specimen) originally in SAMC. Labelled “South Af- rica, Cape Town”. This specimen was sent for identification to Kieffer by Louis Albert Péringuey, former director of the South African Museum. Presently, it is not deposited in the collections of that museum. It was not found in any of the main world museums (including the Natural History Museum in London, England, and the Natural History Museum of Paris, France, where the Kieffer collection was housed). Probably this specimen has to be considered lost .

Remarks. The original description is not sufficient to permit the identification of this species, or to include it in the key to the ♀♀ of the Afrotropical Gonatopus . Therefore we include it among the incertae sedis species.
