Type species Triangocypretta hirsuta gen. et spec. nov.

Etymology: The prefix of the genus name is from the triangular shape of the carapace in lateral view. The suffix is derived from the genus Cypretta, thus indicating the similarity (and affinity) with this genus.

Diagnosis: Cp in lateral view with dorsal margin highly arched; inner list smooth, without the presence of inner tubercules at the posteroventral corner of the RV; A2 with G claws equally serrated; MdPalp with α and β-seta short and thin; CR slender and with S a seta absent; CR attachment composed by a single branch.
