Japananoides circularis sp. nov.

Description. Color pattern of anterior dorsum and face as in Figs. 1–8. Crown with a white median preapical spot. Male face dark brown with four incomplete transverse white stripes (Fig. 4); female face dark brown with six white stripes (Fig. 8).

Other external features as in generic description.

Male genitalia. Aedeagus shafts each with three (paratypes) or four (holotype and paratypes) lamellar subapical processes; gonopore subapical (Figs. 12, 13). Connective with arms shorter than stem (Fig. 14). Style broad with slightly laterally curved caudal apex of apophysis, with small subapical setae (Fig. 15).

Female pygofer with ventroposterior margin sharply incurved (Fig. 16). Female seventh sternum posterior margin with deep angulate median concavity, posterolateral margins acutely produced (Fig. 17). First valvula of ovipositor slightly curved, attenuate to apex, with obscure reticulate sculpture dorsally and scale-like sculpture ventrally (Figs. 18, 19). Second valvula with few large rounded teeth on distal half of dorsal margin (Figs. 20, 21).

Measurement. Length (including tegmen): ♂, 4.6–4.7 mm; ♀, 4.8–5.1 mm.

Host. Maples.

Etymology. The new specie name is derived from the Latin word “circularis”, referring to crown with a white spot.
