Basionym: Myrtus biflora Linnaeus (1759: 1056) .

Eugenia biflora is a tree or shrub species that is distributed across Southeast Mexico to Bolivia and the central west of Brazil, as well as the Antilles (Mazine & Souza 2015, WCSP 2020). It is found in a Humid Tropical Forest, a domain that has no habitat loss or any invasion of exotic species, occurring in conservation areas such as the “Reserva de la Biofera la Sepultura”, “Reserva de la Biosfera Montes Azules”, both in the state of Chiapas (INE-SEMARNAP 1999c, INE-SEMARNAP 2000a). Eugenia biflora was recently assessed by BGCI & IUCN (2019c) and is currently in the Least Concern (LC) category.
