Carex arenaria L. (new host) 1) North Poland, Wislana spit, Piaski (Nowa Karczma), open and sunny place—grey dune with scarce young pines, grassland on acid, base­poor soil; 20.08.2003; leg. W. Rakowski; 38 specimens. 2) Puszcza Notecka, Sieraków forest inspectorate, Gospodka forest district, 26.08.2003; leg. W. Rakowski; locality 1: large aggregation in open and sunny place, heathland within Leucobryo­Pinetum pinewood; 41 specimens; locality 2: large aggregation along forest road shaded by pine trees, 2 specimens. 3) West Poland, Sieraków, scarp near the border of pinewood, in the shaded place near pine and birch trees; 26.08.2003; leg. W. Rakowski; 21 specimens.

Mites found as vagrants on upper leaf surfaces and also in sheaths.

The species so far was recorded in Sweden, Hungary and Finland on Carex hirta L. (Roivainen 1950).
