Fulgenta MacGowan, 2017

An endemic Afrotropical genus with 15 described species (MacGowan, 2023). In almost all cases only the males can be identified with certainty.

Only previously known from the holotype collected in Cameroon in 1987 (MacGowan, 2017) .

Fulgenta plumosa MacGowan, 2017 ( Fulgenta): Région des Plateaux: Lomnava NE of Huimé (NE of Kpalimé), 7.0163N 0.6794E, 295m a.s.l., plantation (cocoa, banana), aspirated from spittle droplets on leaves attracting flies, 18.4.200 8, leg. M. Tschirnhaus, 1♂.

Only previously known from five males captured in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon between 1936 and 2010 (MacGowan, 2017) .
