Diagnosis. Arctosa meitanensis is similar to Arctosa tridentata Chen & Song, 1999 but differs in the structure of the terminal part and embolus. The apical part of the terminal apophysis (TA in Fig. 27) is sharp in A. meitanensis while the apical part to that of A. tridentata is wide and rounded (Chen & Song 1999: fig. 7). The synembolus (Se in Fig. 27) is longer than in A. tridentata . The embolus is narrow and long in A. meitanensis (Em in Fig. 27) while the embolus of A. tridentata short and wide (Chen & Song 1999: fig. 7). The female of A. meitanensis is similar to Arctosa serrulata Mao & Song, 1985 but differs in the absence apical chink between the septum and body (see Fig. 29 and Song et al., 1999: fig. 190b).

Comments. This species described by female from Guizhou Province of China (Yin et al., 1993). Later Chen & Song (1999) described male from Henan Province, China. Because of the lack of a proper description and drawings, here we provide a redescription of both sexes together with drawings and photos of specimens newly collected from Altai Mountains. This is the western- and northernmost records for this species.
Russian specimens of Arctosa meitanensis differ somewhat from those depicted in Yin et al. (1993) and Chen & Song (1999); however, unpublished images of the pedipalps of males from South China (Z.S. Zhang pers. comm.) show that the Ta and Se are quite variable and that Russian specimens fall within that variation.
