Synonym of Syntomus truncatellus (Linne, 1761) .

Remarks. Comparison of the holotype and three paratypes of Syntomus ai Barsevskis, 1993 with specimens of Syntomus truncatellus (Linne, 1761), revealed no characters outside the range of intraspecific variation between the widespread Syntomus truncatellus and establishes Syntomus ai (new synonymy) as a junior synonym of Syntomus truncatellus . In the original description of Syntomus ai all specimens of the type series were listed as males. In fact, the paratype series includes 1 male and 2 females.
